Welcome to the Pembroke House Foundation, the fundraising arm of Pembroke House Prep School, Kenya.
For details on how to donate, please see below
Starting in 2000, The Pembroke House Foundation was created as a Kenya based trust to support the school. It has its own separate board of trustees and committee and its own bank accounts. This allows the foundation to manage funds separately to the day to day running of the school. Any investment decisions are of course made hand in hand with the Head, and the school Council (the governors).
Investments are usually made in the following areas:
1. Infrastructure (buildings, site and sports facilities)
2. Equipment (computers, projectors, furniture)
3. Sponsorhip (bursaries and scholarships)
In 2011 Pembroke House Foundation UK (PHF UK) was registered as a charity with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (No. 1142139). This allows PHF UK to reclaim a further 25% of any donation as a UK tax payer as ‘Gift Aid’ from the government. It also allows higher rate UK tax payers (40%+) to reclaim 20-30% themselves at the end of each tax year. This means that a cost of just £50 could result in a benefit of up to £100 for PHF UK.
Both the Kenya and UK Foundations are staffed by Pembrokians and Friends of Pembroke. Together with the the school management, school Council and Pembrokians organisations a 2027 vision has been developed that seeks to raise KSh 72m to complete the development plans needed for the next 15 years.
We are looking for support wherever possible to reach this goal. If you would like to donate, please download the bank details here and let us know where you are resident by getting in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
