Another year for the Pembrokians. We are trying to
work a whole lot closer with the school and with the
Foundation. Our committee now includes the new Busi-
ness Manager at Pembroke, Rob Breare, Rob Harte of
course, and MJ Nuitjen the Registrar. And I personally
have another involvement in that my son is in year 5
with nearly another 4 years to go.
I have to say that I am really enjoying the extra partici-
pation with the school. Of course things have changed
– but not that much. And I would say generally for the
better!
There is a new club activity taking place at the week-
end, I have learnt. It is called The Desert Martlets and
as far as I can gather it involves army manouevres,
right down to target shooting with airguns. I wish we
had that 40 years ago! My son thinks this is just the
best thing.
The website is a major priority for us, keeping in touch
with Pembrokians, but it is proving a bit of a challenge.
Technology keeps changing and the social networks
like facebook are really popular with the young and
perhaps growing on the more traditional Pembrokians
too, so they need to be integrated. Please be patient and
keep checking and report back to us if you can with
comments and suggestions.
