The Pembroke House Foundation - Who we are:

Pembroke House School occupies a special spot not only in the annuls of the history of education in Kenya (both pre and post-independence) and in its location (away from the hustle and bustle of a metropolis), but also in the hearts of those many pupils to have passed through its varied and unique portals.

Today in an increasingly competitive environment, it is vital for this unique institution of primary education in Kenya to retain its position among the finest preparatory schools, not only in Kenya but also in the IAPS world. To do so the School must continue to support and enhance the people, programmes, and facilities that clearly make a difference and which instill a little of the unique Pembroke Spirit in every child that passes through its doors.

In order to achieve this there is clearly a need for Pembroke House School and the entirely charitable and non-profit-making Kenya Educational Trust, which is charged with running the school, to become properly and adequately endowed. The Pembroke House Foundation was therefore formed in 2000 as a trust for the purpose of establishing a Pembroke House/Kenya Educational Trust Endowment by donation or through targeted fund-raising. It is envisioned that the endowment will:

  • provide capital for sustainable development beyond that facilitated through revenues earned from fee-paying parents.
  • provide scholarships, exhibitions & bursaries or other forms of financial assistance.
