U9's Rugby vs St.Andrew's and Greensteds
The Pembroke Under 9's made an excellent start on Thursday, recording
two wins in the Up-Country Triangular at Turi.
Four tries from Captain, Xander Nuijten and one from Josh Seagon helped
Pembroke on their way to a comfortable 25-10 victory against Turi. In
their next game against Greensteds, Pembroke ran in eight tries, courtesy
of Homer Johnstone (3), Xander Nuijten(2), JoshSeagon, TobyDoig and
William Millar.

An excellent performance by the 1sts. Cameron Coulson and
William Ballard excelled in the centres. Forwards hit rucks hard
and scrums were also superb. Well done!

dominating the game and scoring some excellent
tries. Backs looking great but forwards to be praised

This was the best performance yet by the 2nds with
quicker passing and more aggressive play. Banda
dominated with 19 goals scored but the girls must
be congratulated for their fighting spirit.

We were tested by a much improved Turi team and with
the score at 14-12 at half-time, the boys needed to respond.
They did and ran in 5 unanswered tries.

frustrating but we defended very well for the rest of the
game and played well against a much taller team.

Turi played an extremely good match and Pembroke
found themselves struggling from the start to keep
up with their speed and agility. More determination
is needed against Greensteds on Saturday.

Pembroke started off very well, scoring trhe first
goal and managing to kep the score down in the first half.
The play then got sloppy on both sides, withTuri
managing to pull ahead. More work is needed on moving
ball down the court!

need to work hard on keeping the ball in hand and
tackline low.

The team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 25-0 defeat
over Turi with an improved defence, Pembroke maintained a clean sheet,
with Josh scoring 2 tries.

Toby Doig x 1
Performers: Xander Nuijten and Pascal Boullay
Pembroke's winning form continued against Greensteds as they scored
another five tries. Though Greensteds scored in the 1st half, Nuijten, Millar
Seagon and Shaw the game safe.
