Communications between parents and the school are a vital part of building a close relationship that benefits your children.
Children write letters home every Tuesday morning. These not only give you an insight into school life but teach the lifelong skill of letter writing. It’s one of “Pembroke’s Traditions”. Parents often treasure their letters forever.
Children are allowed to bring mobile phones at Pembroke House, but these must be kept by the Houseparents. Phones may be signed out to call parents on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons or at the weekend, and must then be returned for safe keeping.
You can call the house staff or other staff any time that you have queries or concerns about your children.
Children can also go to the School Office and ask to call home if they want to get in touch with you.
All children have an email address and they are encouraged to check their email regularly.
There is an open day weekend once a term offering you the chance to see your children’s work and classrooms, artwork, and to meet the teachers on a one-to-one basis.
Parent Teacher Meetings
Parents Meetings with teachers are held over Exeat weekends and tie in with major events at the school. Parents book appointments with the school secretaries on the Friday afternoon before exeat and open day weekends. These meeting last five minutes each and offer the chance to talk about your child’s progress. Saturday morning meetings are also possible, on a first-come-first-served basis.
